What worked

Leaving the trailer at the caravan park in Tom Price for the day trips into the gorges saved a lot of time and diesel — worth planning for on any Karijini run. Fuel and water range were never close to a problem with the setup we had.

What didn't

We underestimated how corrugated the road into Hamersley Gorge would be and didn't drop tyre pressures early enough — a slow puncture cost us half a day. Also booked only two nights at Dales Gorge campground when we could easily have used three.
